Mid-Autumn Festival 2024
The Mandarin Language Club hosts an annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebration for the families of the Mandarin program. Teachers, administration, alumni, and friends are encouraged to attend. There will be cultural performances, mooncake tasting, festival snacks, and games & fun activities!
This year’s event will be held at the Baton Rouge FLAIM campus (4510 Bawell St) on Saturday, September 21 from 2-4 PM. The performances will begin promptly at 2:30 PM.

Mooncakes, a Mid-Autumn Festival Treat
Mooncakes (月饼, yuè bǐng) are the hallmark food of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a popular holiday in China and many other Asian countries. They are a dessert that can be sweet or savory and are often round, in the shape of a moon. Typical sweet fillings include sweet bean paste, lotus seed paste, or red date and can have salted, cured egg yolks in the center. Given as gifts to family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and employees, these pastries symbolize family and harmony.
